How admission actually works

Four routes into a Bengaluru engineering seat

Each route is a separate exam, a separate registration and a separate fee slab. Picking the wrong one costs you a year.

KCET — state merit

Karnataka's state exam, and the cheapest way into a VTU college. Karnataka-domicile rules apply, and the seat matrix is published only after the exam.

COMEDK UGET

The private-college consortium exam, open to students from any state. Mid-tier fees, and often the realistic route for a good college when KCET rank falls short.

JEE Main

Accepted by the private universities here and useful nationally. Not a substitute for KCET or COMEDK at the VTU colleges.

Management / direct

The highest fee slab, and the one where families get misled most often. We will tell you the real cost across four years before you commit to anything.

B.Tech admission, answered straight

For the VTU-affiliated colleges here it is KCET (Karnataka state merit), COMEDK UGET (the private-college consortium) or JEE Main — most students write more than one to keep options open. The private universities (REVA, Alliance) run their own entrance tests and also accept JEE Main. Writing the wrong exam for the college you want is the most common and most expensive mistake we see.
Because B.Tech fees are not one number. The same branch at the same college costs very differently through KCET merit, COMEDK and the management channel, and the slabs are re-notified every year. Rather than print a figure we cannot stand behind, we quote you the current one for your specific branch and route when you ask.
No. CSE and its AI/ML and data-science variants close first and cost the most, but a core branch at a strong college often beats CSE at a weak one — for the teaching, the peer group and the recruiters who actually visit. We will talk you through that trade-off honestly rather than just selling you the branch you asked for.
No. Merit seats are allotted strictly on your KCET/COMEDK/JEE rank through official counselling. What we do is make sure your rank is matched to a realistic choice list and that every deadline is met — which is where most families actually lose a seat.
